Jeanine Orme – Beaverton, OR

Jeanine Orme was born in Ogden, Utah and came to Weiser for the first time when she was eight years old.  She is a past Utah State Fiddle Champion, Oregon State Adult Champion and has served as a judge at Weiser and other regional and state contests.  Jeanine has been teaching violin and fiddle lessons for over thirty years.  She also enjoys teaching workshops and fiddle camps.

Her music has been influenced significantly by five-time National Fiddle Champion Herman Johnson who instructed her in Texas-style fiddling and Western swing.  She is the author of “The Fiddlin’ Workshop”, “Herman Johnson Master Fiddler” and“Texas-Style Fiddlin’ Workshop”, Mel Bay Publications Inc.   She resides in Beaverton, Oregon.

 

Philosophy:

In the twin fiddle division I will be listening for solid harmony and bowing that is in sync, good tone and good intonation.  I enjoy seeing players who are having fun.
